Industrial products: cards reader and
encoder magnetic, chip and RFID.
The reader and encoder is an
industrial product that allows you to read and write data on
suitable cards such as debit cards, credit cards and control
badges. It can read and write data using different methods:
magnetic, chip and RFID (contact or short-distance). These readers
are generally integrated into self-service devices such as ATM
machines, information kiosks and vending machines.
After we defined the
specifications of the industrial product with the customer, we
elaborated the concept from a system-base point of view, defining
the main characteristics and design constraints; we then carried
out an analysis of the problem using the TRIZ method and proceeded
with the sizing of the stepper motor, the handling of the cards by
means of rollers in order to have a speed of advancement that
allows the reading of data on magnetic strips. A specific
connector design was developed for the chip part.
Executive design.
Starting from the results obtained
with the TRIZ analysis and the sizing done, we started the phase
of cad/cam design using the parametric software PTC Creo. The
modelling phase has been integrated with the use of other
methodologies to support the design: DfMA (design for
manufacturing and assembly), DoE (design of experiment), DTC
(Design To Cost) and Robust Design - Taguchi.
The 3D cad models and their
associated drawings were delivered to the customer (Chinese
company) who built, assembled and tested the technological
prototypes supported by us.
Completed the final cad documentation with the list of components,
drawings and assembly and testing procedures the customer has
started the mass production phase in his factory in China.
The reader was then integrated with the project of a card
dispenser in order to have a standalone station able to issue new
personalized cards.
