Industrial products: manufacturing process
for impact printheads.
Designed the printhead and made
the special machines for its
production, we set up the entire manufacturing process by
implementing the supply chain, training the staff and starting the
new manufacturing facility in China.
Training of staff.
Transferred and installed the special automatic
machines the local technicians have been trained.
The training was carried out on different themes and covered all
phases of the manufacturing process:
- dot matrix impact printhead technology
- the characteristics and the key parameters of the head to be
manufactured
- the various stages of the manufacturing process
- incoming materials quality control
- quality controls throughout the manufacturing process
- final inspection of the product
Supply Chain and quality control of
incoming materials.
The quality of the incoming
materials is essential for a final product that meets
expectations.
To achieve this we supported the Chinese customer in the
implementation of the entire supply chain: this meant visiting and
analyzing about 30 companies in China (Shenzhen, Suzhou, Wuxji,
Hangzhou, Hebei,...).
Six Chinese manufacturers were qualified, plus one Swiss, one
Japanese and one Italian.
A quality control card has been drawn up for each component and
the process of incoming inspection and nonconformity management
has been defined.
The manufacturing workshop.
We designed, set up and started the
production department in China.
After we defined the
assembly process, we created the layout of the department and
identified the necessary general equipment (standard grinding
machines, ovens, washing machines, etc.). Work instructions and
quality controls have been defined for each workplace.
Where required, support tools for assembly, verification and
testing have been designed.
Particular attention has
been paid to product quality.
To guarantee this, dedicated electronic testing equipment has been
developed for the various functional sub-assemblies: measurement
of coil resistance, electrical continuity and short circuits. As
well as the fixtures required for assembly and control operations.
The final test.
The final testing of the product is
essential to ensure that what has been produced is compliant with
the specification.
For this step, we have designed and realized a specific parametric
test equipment for needle printheads that measures the
functional parameters and saves the data on a network server for
each registered printhead.
From the acquired data, in addition to a GO NO-GO feedback, we
extract the final diagrams that characterize each printhead
produced.
